Prophecy Girl.
Not sure I have a lot to say, really, just a few thoughts - probably because this is a well-liked episode and thus has had a fair share of attention!
First - I love the teaser. Or the Buffy fight of the teaser - the way it's shot, the slow-motion, the odd close-up framing, the expressions... it's possibly my favourite Buffy fight ever in the way it encapsulates the character so wonderfully (very much Joss saying 'Look at the icon I made!'). *happy sigh*
The emotional highlight of the episode is of course Buffy's speech - there is a gorgeous vid made by Sadique using that speech with the music from 'The Gift', but her website seems to have vanished. I also liked the beginning of the scene where Buffy cathes sight of Angel - she has not seen him since they shared that one very painful kiss.
Also heartbreaking is this exchange, at the end of the prom dress scene:
Buffy: And you had your whole life ahead of you.
Joyce: Yeah.
Buffy: Must be nice.
*hugs Buffy*
It's a shame Darcy dislikes fandom so much, because he'd make the most amazing fanboy. Watching the fight against the ugly hellbeastie that comes out of the Hellmouth, he said: "Don't they fight this thing another time?" And they do! See this picture from The Zeppo:

It's amazing how this episode still resonates with me. And how my real Buffy love began then and just grew. There was never a moment I didn't want to understand her. She was always that girl crying out at Giles in the library.

And yeah, I always loved Buffy too - the fact that she got better at hiding that pain in later years, doesn't mean that it went away. Why people can't see that baffles me!
