TV makes me happy.

First of all Happy Belated Birthday [livejournal.com profile] priscellie! Hope your day was great! (I actually *did* remember yesterday, but Darcy was v. busy trying to get the iMac and the laptop to talk to each other, so I was LJ-less.)

Yesterday we also finally got round to watching the first part of 'The Devil's Whore', and it left me with flaily hands and much, much love. And not just because of John Simm [it's well written, well acted, beautifully shot and v. nicely produced], although I'd happily watch it just for him. *points to icon* I don't have time to attempt to write anything down (which is probably good, since anything to do with Sexby would probably end up completely in capslocks and my historical knowledge is patchy at best), but AA Gill's review is here. (It's a very positive review. I almost feel like framing it, he does them so seldom.)

ETA: England's at war in The Devil’s Whore, article by Stephen Armstrong, and John Simm on The Devil's Whore. The latter includes this, which is *killing* me with hope:

Has the Beeb asked him to be Doctor Who? “I'm the Master. Simple as that. I don't want to be Doctor Who. I might be the Master again... I'm not allowed to say.”

Dear, dear sweet Mr Moffat give us back Simm!Master. *begs* (Although until then I'm looking forward to more of my scruffy, swashbuckling antihero!)

To end on an even shallower note, I loved 28 Reasons That ‘Twilight’ the Movie Is Better Than ‘Twilight’ the Book. (It's a slideshow, and actually has a lot of complimentary things to say. ENJOY!)
