Just finished watching 'The Witch'. As the credits roll, we had the following exchange:

Me: "Can I mention something?"
Darcy: "Is it that Xander said that he wanted a rail road spike through his head?"
Me: "No..."
Darcy: "Is it that Giles said that he'd never cast a spell before?"
Me: "No... "
Darcy: "Well there are a million and one little details that you and your chums have probably discussed ad infinitum. Just tell me what it is!"
Me: "Um, in S2 or 3 Oz is watching the statue and says that it's like the eyes follow you."
Darcy (smiles): "Yeah I rememeber that. That's very good."

*happy sigh*

(He still thinks I'm insane, though, but getting a little more tolerant...)

*giggles* I wish I could get my boyfriend to watch Buffy or Angel. I managed to get him to let me put the DVD on one night when we went to bed; I was all excited and stuff that we were finally going to share my obsession. Had the episode picked out and everything. I think it was Hush - yes, it was, I remember. Anyway, we're there, all snuggly, I hit play, credits roll...I'm all excited, turn to him to say "Did you know this episode was nominated for an EMMY"...and nothing. Except gentle snoring. HE DIDN'T EVEN MAKE IT PAST THE CREDITS!!! *sighs* Heathen!

So glad you're bonding over this, you have my heartfelt jealousy! (just kidding!) :)

Hee! But poor you. We always watched the show together (which he takes full credit for btw, since he loved the movie), but then I became a crazy obsessive fangirl and he sort of backed off a bit.

That's funny -- I know Giles's statement has been debated often and I noticed the railroad spike comment as one of those Joss-isms that has turned up more than once in different episodes but good on him for catching those :> Hee, your influence has rubbed off, rather like living with a sports fan!

It's such a shame though, because he'd be an awesome fan - he's very smart and has a wonderful eye for detail. *sigh*
