First from Global Spin (from the GRAMMYs):

Kazakh superstar Dimash Qudaibergen brings arena-level drama to "Fire," delivering a fire-starting performance of the track, packed with pyrotechnics, a revved-up motorcycle, and his signature vocals, at Astana Arena in his home country.

This is a mash-up of two performances from his concerts in Astana, Kazakhstan’s capital, on the 13th and 14th of September 2025, where the song premiered. More info here.

I first experienced this song at his London concert and it absolutely blew me away. You'll see (hear) why.

Then today (5 Feb 2026) this performance:

On February 5, Dimash Qudaibergen’s musical project 'Voice Beyond Horizon' premiered, with the artist serving as its executive producer. The project opened with Dimash’s song Fire, which he performed in English, Kazakh, and Chinese.

This is a perfect example of how he constantly switches things up. No song stays the same: he adds, he subtracts, he integrates another language (or two) or changes the genre or style or combines them in different ways... the versatility is endless.

It's important to remember that not everything in the world is bleak. There are wonders also. 🔥🔥🔥🔥

I truly am terrible at posting updates. However I have been lost in fic-writing world (a nice place to hide from the horrors), and have actually managed to post something!

Here is something for a Friday night:

My Way - Domingo x Carreras x Dimash x HAUSER | Virtuosos 2025

Someone in a comment on youtube said that Carreras and Domingo have never performed with another tenor since Pavarotti died. I have no idea if this is correct, however when trying to verify it I came across this article from 2017: CARRERAS AND DOMINGO VIRTUALLY RECREATED THE THREE TENORS' ATMOSPHERE WITH "MY WAY" AT THE ARENA DI VERONA. And to then use that specific song that with Dimash is clearly a huge honour. <3

I should probably also mention that to sing with them is literally Dimash's childhood dream, he had a VHS with The Three Tenors that he would watch, and that helped inspire him to become a singer.

Also, I doubt they had much time to rehearse - this performance was during The Virtuosos ('a classical music talent show with a unique format, focusing on discovering young classical talent and then giving the talented youngsters a chance to develop and progress in a way that few others have'), they'll all have been v busy. ^_^

New Dimash song: Love's Not Over Yet

I say 'new'... the video (mini-movie) was released 7 hours ago, but there is a recording of him singing it from 2017... (I posted that version back in 2021.) So he's been working on it for a long time.

When the music started I went 'Hang on, I know this!' The tune is very distinctive.

The song was created by an international team led by two-time Grammy Award-winning producer and composer Walter Afanasieff. It was written specifically for Dimash's unique voice by French songwriters Flavien Compagnon, Dominique Bourse, and lyricist Devon Graves.

ETA: Meant to add this yesterday, but was tired... He released a teaser a week ago, but it appears to actually be set after the story of the MV:

A traditional Kazakh song, Eki Jiren. This recording is from 2016 and has three singers: Moldir Auyelbekova, Malika Smagulova and Dimash Kudaibergen. It's just the loveliest tune, I have been listening to it on repeat for days. Also he is baby (with terrible, terrible hair <3). He was like 21-22 when this was recorded.

I also came across a different version, which cuts out the first two singers and only keeps the last verse that Dimash sings, but then adds on a dombra solo. (Possibly Renat Gaisin, but the video of him playing that is used is from 'River of Love'.)

From the blurb on youtube:

Dimash performed the song "Rizamyn Tagdyrga" ("Grateful to Fate") on October 15, 2024, at the Opening Ceremony of the Almaty Open ATP 250 tennis tournament in Almaty. The composition was written by Kaiyrgali Kozhanbaev with lyrics by Alua Zhaimambetova back in 1993. The song was first performed by Dimash's mentor, Marat Aitimov.

Apparently he and his friends filmed the video a few days ago in a local park.

And it made Sir Hairless cry! <3 (He is one of my favourite reactors.)

And tomorrow we're taking the Cherub down south to start uni! (That seems impossible, she was an 'LJ baby' and my flist organised a virtual baby shower... <3)

Anyway, have a new Dimash performance as well. This is from a Chinese show called 'Singing With Legends' (article here from 2019), and it's a duet between Dimash and Di Mahi Huang Xiaoyun called "Red Moon Rules" (I hope that's all correct). It's a really unusual and gorgeous performance.

Just to focus on something positive/different... Dimash has a new song/video out, 'When I've Got You' (you get ONE guess wrt the genre *g*):

(My little 90s kid heart adores the fact that he makes PROPER VIDEOS. There is a story. It reflects, or plays off, the lyrics. And zomg it's crazy well produced! Literal movie-quality. And the song is... 👌 🎤🎶🎶🎸)
