Post here
elisi: 13 running towards the TARDIS (TARDIS)
Vids are the answer. I've been working on a very long and indepth post about Thirteen and I'm just fed up. Imma gonna go back to watching Five and maybe at some point I'll feel extra cross with Chibbers and post the darn thing, but until then there's this, which just made my morning:

elisi: (Thirteen)
So, I am trying to write up my thoughts on S11 (because apparently I need to write them down in order to get them out of my system) and some parts make me cross and some are just annoying and some are just... less than what I hoped for (even with having low expectations).

And I really don't like being negative, so - if you feel so inclined - please share your favourite Thirteen stuff with me? Like, anything. Your favourite scene, or exchange, art work, vids, fic, cosplay, a news story about how Thirteen & Team TARDIS made a difference to someone... Just anything.

Because I want to remember how I felt right at the beginning when everything was exciting and happy.

Brexit: Theresa May's deal is voted down in historic Commons defeat

(Not that I expected this to pass, but ye gods, the incompetence of... everything.)

ETA: Nice summary:

Well thank the Lord, they haven't forgotten how to make the show.

(Probably more later, although I have a whole year in which to formulate my thoughts...)
elisi: Candide as criticism of Chibnall Who (Chibnall)
So, tonight (at 7pm) we'll get the only Doctor Who of the whole of 2019.

I am trying very hard not to be negative, so here is a very positive review of The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos (and S11 in general).

However, when I started thinking about tonight's ep I figured the older girls will probably ask what happened in S11 (they only watched the first two episodes) and my answer will be: Nothing much, really.

Of course Doctor Who is by nature very accessible, you can hop on board pretty much anywhere, but the biggest development of S11 was Ryan calling Graham 'grandad'.

ETA: Knew I was forgetting something. My summary of S11:

S11Moral5

And to go with that, I bring you something silly. From the comments of a post about Resolution (even the link is spoilery! Don't hover over!), here is a 'Leaked script extract':

SPOILERS FOR VILLAIN )

It's possible there was something else I meant to say, but I am 3/4 of the way through a Fifth Doctor story and would like to see how it ends. :) (I am watching Classic Who backwards. I saw the movie years ago and most of Seven. I have now watched the rest of Seven, all of Six (♥) and have now started on Five. It's all been far more engaging than S11. (Go on Chibnall. Prove me wrong!)

Bladerunner
(x)

And props to Blade Runner, that's fairly accurate.

Anyway - thank you all for being awesome in 2018, and here's to 2019, a No Deal Brexit and all the other joys. But hey, I get to use the quixotic mood! :D

This is one of the albums I have listened to every year for... I don't even know.

(It's a playlist, so go to youtube to listen to the whole thing.)

New Year's better be good... )

In other news, I have almost finished S22 and may write up some thoughts on that! Six is my darling and I luff him to pieces. ♥
elisi: (Girl Doctor)
Why couldn't we have had THIS season from the start? *cries*

(I watched it and then immediately re-watched it. This one's magical. Last week's ep was Doctor Who. But this? This was MY show.)
elisi: (longlongtime by sdwolfpup.)
I almost said I don't know how to describe this, but that would be wrong - it's poetry, quite literally.

Technically I guess it's fic, since it's set within the Buffy 'verse, but it can easily be read with no knowledge of anything Buffy related - just two former lovers, meeting again many years later, snippets of life alluded to, joys and sorrows and time passing. And it's poetry.

It's Easy to be Noble (when you're not) in Constantinople

Summary: It's that blue-haired meeting in Istanbul, mentioned in 'New Moon Rising'; only they're in Italy, and it's twenty years to the day after the laundry room scene from 'Hush'.
