Merlin
OK, so I was annoyed. I was annoyed with the dragon, with Merlin, and with Arthur. And with the writers. (Really dislike that kind of stupid catch-22.)
But I have changed my mind. Well, I'm still annoyed with the writers (and Merlin is an idiot, but that's par for the course *g*), but otherwise I've decided that the Disir are just jerks, and good on Arthur for not letting himself be blackmailed into going against his beliefs/lack of belief.
Basically (as far as I can tell) there is this gap between magic (just a natural force? All good & useful & Merlin & Gaius & poor old witch & other fuzzy-nice-things) and the faith/religion/rules surrounding it (Disir, Morgana, Mordred (maybe), other nasty magic users). It's the latter that Arthur resents, and I don't think he's necessarily wrong. Could he be less harsh? Yes. Should he bend to pressure with no concrete proof? No. I've only been a very casual viewer until this season, but his arguments against sounded pretty sound to me.
Hm. Merlin believes in fate & predestination, which contrasts rather nicely with Arthur who believes in forging his own future...
Arthur, of course, is partially blind because he's not got all the facts. But Merlin blinds himself.
And that's your lot of thoughts for tonight.
