I am following the discussion further down avidly. May or may not have this post tagged, like the nosy, meta-hungry so-and-so I am.

And of course, I agree - she will absolutely help turn him into less of a monster! Or, I hope she will. Of course he will go on some sort of personal evolutionary journey with her, because he always does. It's one of the reasons he travels with people. It's never a very consistent journey though - he does tend to swing wildly from one extreme to the other, in terms of universal 'fame', and 'monstery-ness', and level of pacifism and a whole load of other things. And he could never be *totally* un-monstered, because he would stop being the Doctor (can't have one without the other...) But broadly speaking, I think Oswin will be good for him, and will stop him (at least for a while) being the kind of person whose name comes to mean Great Warrior.

I just also think that journey will be mirrored in hers. Perhaps it's though de-monstering Oswin he manages to de-monster himself.
