And that doesn’t even count that the Silence have been teaching her everything they can to make her his equal her whole life. They are apparently time travellers too. So it wasn’t all gunplay and lipstick. *nods*
I find it amazing that I’m enjoying the River relationship because I’ve always been a strong proponent of the asexual club too. I liked that he was different that way, and I always just figured he either didn’t have the same drive because he was alien, old, or just because he’d realized that for the life he wanted to lead it wasn’t going to work, so he just pushed it to the side to the point where he more or less forgot it. It just wasn’t on his radar. Yeah, that's it. Plus, the thing with Companions is that the imbalance in power is deeply worrying once you get to a physical relationship, so I think he'd not even consider it. Plus he's old and generally forgets about it. As for my own head-canon, then I think Ten lost his virginity to Reinette (and then there was Liz 1, and that was it), and Eleven probably lost his to Marilyn. :)
When I realized that, my poor little geek brain practically exploded. Doctor, you dog! :D *DIES* Oh that's BRILLIANT. Plus, like you say, I'm sure he's a marvellous lover, and River is a very, very, very lucky woman.
And the whole universe continues, everything solidifies and remains stable. And the first question in the universe is, “WTF?” *snerk* I'm sure it'll be... interesting, however it plays out. :)
OOOH! The Question has already been answered! Indeed it has! \o/
I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought that. Too many narrative dead ends added. Detours definitely needed. I’m glad Moff has been doing it. Oh that's been my opinion for YEARS. I mean, Ten broke BEAUTIFULLY, so I can sort of understand the urge, and it certainly makes sense that the Time War would have far reaching effects. But I'm glad he was put back together, because I didn't want to feel sorry for the Doctor...
