Anyway, love your thoughts about testing and tempering (which was where I was going to compare her to Spike, because she is TOTALLY him), and that this is very important - because if she is to be the Doctor's wife, she needs to be able to stand up to 900+ years worth of experience. Which she does, of course. But in order to become that kind of person, she needs this kind of story. (Rose was LOVELY, and just what the Doctor needed then, but the inequality was always very uncomfortable.)
Also, I love talking stuff over with people - comments (especially ones as interesting as yours) are half the fun, since everyone brings a different perspective.
