It's actually quite easy, with good software it only takes about ten minutes to learn how to do basic stuff.

I find myself thinking this for every kid's show he writes. The answer is: Somehow.
Currently, I think it's the fairy tale thing. He codes it all in fairy tales and because we're used to those stories we don't notice how very, very dark they are.
