What happens now doesn't just impact the future, it also helps explain the past. (Mostly I wish I could create 3D diagrams to show how everything fits together...)
Because that's always how Moffat writes, and to form a full picture you have to look at all of it, way beyond the obvious, and then it all makes sense and it's beautiful. It really is. (The beginning is the end is the beginning.)
