Like I said, I'm really on the fence about River killing Rory or the Doctor, though I'm leaning towards the Doctor at this point.

First of all: Of COURSE I don't want River to kill Rory! I would cry and be miserably and write angsty fanfic about it for the rest of my life.

A large part of my reasoning behind it fell on two things:

1) the "big mistake" Rory was purported to "be on the verge of"

2) the fact that the Doctor made it very, very clear in AGMGtW that he was not--or at least did not consider himself to be--a good man.

This sort of formed a scenario in my head where Rory was offered the choice to join the thing, whatever it is, against the Doctor in exchange for an opportunity to raise Melody. I believe that if Rory ever truly lost faith in the Doctor (something that seems likelier all the time) that is absolutely an option he would take. I like to think that he might then betray Korvarian's army for the Doctor, and River would either be forced to kill the Rory or, loyal to Korvarian, kill Rory of her own accord. It depends I think on how dark they wanted River to go.

Like I said, I'm leaning more towards her killing the Doctor at this point, especially as the reveal about River being the Pond baby. It shows that Moffat is still trying to maintain plot twists that children can easily understand. The fact that River couldn't have killed the Doctor because it's ~too obvious is now a moot point.

Um, yes. I think that's all I have to say about that. You'll have to forgive me, I've just driven to the city where my parents live in a very small, very hot car and I'm trying to get ready for a bridal shower I'm supposed to leave for in a few minutes. :)
