I am so happy about New York! And sad, because there's a fair chance that numerous states will never allow it until a Supreme Court decision says not allowing it and the Defense of Marriage Act are declared unconstitutional. (There's a number of states who have enshired the definition of marriage as "one man, one woman" into their state consitutions and in the same, won't even allow civil unions.) But we're getting there… too slowly. But we're doing it.

I'm tempted to write a Doctor/River h/c fic myself, when I have Tolkien fic to work on. You aren't the only one who has it bad. :P

Yeah, that's one of those moments that makes me go "awww..."

I'd like to think that Canton and his boyfriend did stay together and did get married. Because love isn't about gender, it's about heart. Or two hearts, if you're The Doctor...

I think you're right-it will take a SCOTUS decision to make same-sex marriages legal. It will happen, in my lifetime. And I will cry for those who never had the chance to see it happen...

I am honestly scared about what will happen if the Prop 8 mess in California makes it all the way to SCOTUS. Because it could go horribly wrong even as it has the potential to make things a whole lot better.
