RL.

Well *I* am going to be watching the Royal Wedding. (Unlike EVERYONE ELSE on LJ, apparently, but there - I'm a rebel!) I wouldn't describe myself as a Royalist, although I must confess to being rather fond of having a Royal family... This might be because I'm Danish, and the Danish Royals are LOVELY, but I still think that even the English ones are better than the alternative. Srsly, look at our elected representatives, and tell me that Will and Kate aren't more appealing.

Anyway, after that we're off to go camping for the weekend (which means I'll miss Doctor Who when it airs! *panics* - although going by this slightly spoilery review fandom might just collapse, so maybe it's better to be away). Hey - let's hope the weather stays nice. :)

Couldn't give a stuff about the wedding personally... never understood the appeal of royals or celebrities.

enjoy your trip!

I'll be watching too - to look at the hats, and the outfits, and play spot-the-celebrity and probably watch the actual ceremony too. Then I'll spend the afternoon doing something like pootering around the garden.

D-d and her friends are gathering with Pimms and canapés! So you are not going to be totally alone.

I shall be watching wedding, as will all my family! It's amazing how many people say they have no intention of doing so, but I bet they can all chat about it afterwards! Like all those who never watch soaps but know all the plots!

We share a monarch, my dear! We're practically sisters.

I have to admit, with all the fuss happening I just keep saying to myself, "It's not going to be as good as Lady Di's wedding." LOL! Dating myself again.

I'll watch the highlights, but I'm not getting up early for the real-time event.

Good luck camping!

I'd watch, but 4 am is far too early for me to be up. *g*

I'll be there in front of the tv enjoying every minute. And frankly, I'd rather my money went on paying for the wedding than bombing the hell out of Libya...

So tell you what - if it makes the haters feel better, I'll cover their contribution to the wedding if they will cover my Libya bomb money. We'll both like that.

Joining you as well. Based on childhood memories of the last wedding.

Camping sounds like lots of fun to me!

I won't be watching the royal wedding, but I work that day it I think it airs at 0400. Gah! Also, I don't really get the whole royalty thing. But good for them!

Out here in the wilds of Chicago, I'll be setting my alarm for 4 a.m. to get up and watch it. I'm from Canada, and grew up in a very royalist household (some day I should tell you about The Queen and The Upside Down Flag episode from my past, but I digress), and although I ended up being far, far, faaaaar less conservative politically than my beloved family (Canadian conservatives are what are called moderate Democrats in the U.S., or at least they used to be before the current horrible Canadian PM's group got in, but I digress again), I have always retained a definite emotional attachment to the monarchy - and even a certain intellectual attachment to it.

All of which is to say, yeah, me too!!

Liz 10 would be worth waiting for, eh?

I have American coverage on the television, with the sound turned off because they won't frakkiin' stop talking and making jokes about "you British, har har" aaaaarrrrggghhh!!!!, and I've got the wordless feed from inside Westminster, via the BBC on the 'puter.

Just saw Kate's dress. I'm floored - the top is extraordinarily like the top of the wedding dress my mother wore in 1954, and which I wore as my "something old" in 1981. Mum's and mine didn't have the train, but the top ... amazing.

I've enjoyed every minute (though some of the hats have been eye bogglingly bad), she looked beautiful, and they looked relaxed and happy. You can't beat a bit of pagentry.

Have a great time camping!

Well, I'm German, and thus the British Royals are basically our exports, so I wish them well in a family sort of way. :)

My mother watched. My father, of course, being a Jacobin fled into his office muttering "get rid of them" which sounds far less convincing than it used to since he dragged us to the funeral of the Bali prince two or so years ago because of the pageantry. :)
