RL.
Well *I* am going to be watching the Royal Wedding. (Unlike EVERYONE ELSE on LJ, apparently, but there - I'm a rebel!) I wouldn't describe myself as a Royalist, although I must confess to being rather fond of having a Royal family... This might be because I'm Danish, and the Danish Royals are LOVELY, but I still think that even the English ones are better than the alternative. Srsly, look at our elected representatives, and tell me that Will and Kate aren't more appealing.
Anyway, after that we're off to go camping for the weekend (which means I'll miss Doctor Who when it airs! *panics* - although going by this slightly spoilery review fandom might just collapse, so maybe it's better to be away). Hey - let's hope the weather stays nice. :)

D-d and her friends are gathering with Pimms and canapés! So you are not going to be totally alone.

I have to admit, with all the fuss happening I just keep saying to myself, "It's not going to be as good as Lady Di's wedding." LOL! Dating myself again.
I'll watch the highlights, but I'm not getting up early for the real-time event.
Good luck camping!

So tell you what - if it makes the haters feel better, I'll cover their contribution to the wedding if they will cover my Libya bomb money. We'll both like that.

That is true! :D

Well the dress can't be as big, or Kate won't be able to walk...
And I'd not get up in the middle of the night, no. But as a morning's entertainment, it'll easily beat anything else that's on. (Daytime TV and I are not great friends.)

I won't be watching the royal wedding, but I work that day it I think it airs at 0400. Gah! Also, I don't really get the whole royalty thing. But good for them!

All of which is to say, yeah, me too!!

And I can see how work might interfere...

Canadian conservatives are what are called moderate Democrats in the U.S.
That sounds very similar to Britain!
I have always retained a definite emotional attachment to the monarchy - and even a certain intellectual attachment to it.
Plus, we might end up with a Liz Ten some day... :D

I have American coverage on the television, with the sound turned off because they won't frakkiin' stop talking and making jokes about "you British, har har" aaaaarrrrggghhh!!!!, and I've got the wordless feed from inside Westminster, via the BBC on the 'puter.

Oh yes! :)
And the BBC are lovely. Plus you're not missing all that much - the commentary is nice, but bland.

My mother watched. My father, of course, being a Jacobin fled into his office muttering "get rid of them" which sounds far less convincing than it used to since he dragged us to the funeral of the Bali prince two or so years ago because of the pageantry. :)

Hee! Thank you, I guess. :)

Can't beat the pageantry. *cheers for Royalty*
