Ooh, the layers!
Eeeeeee! \o/ (I sometimes wonder if the whole thing will collapse under the weight of meta I cram in there, but so far it seems to hold up quite well.)

And this is a bit creepy-- not that I'm saying it's a bad thing. Just, the Seeker's definitely not human, and this shows it. He *shouldn't* be reacting like we would.
It's a very him reaction, and he always thinks in the long term... I often wonder whether he's a product of nature or nurture (I do these things. *puzzles at OCs who become three-dimensional*) Anyway, he has inherited his father's talent for careful planning, but uses it to anticipate crises rather than cause them. One of the things that rattle him the most [in this story] is the fact that he'd never considered this happening - he didn't have a back-up plan, he couldn't control the outcome. He's quite the little controlfreak, but a lot of it comes from knowing what the Doctor had to do, and never ever wanting to end up in a similar situation...)

Love this line! The Doctor's influence, much?
Oh yes. Also he's a scientist through and through, and thinks warfare a terrible waste of time and resources. :)

Wonderful ending! :D
Thank you! I can't believe how long I've been 'sitting' on it. (And it actually ties in with "Once the empire is established and there's a new Gallifrey in the heavens, maybe then… it stops." I don't think it's a conscious choice on the Seeker's part, but he has that memory locked away somewhere, and he wants to take that excuse away - that is, in some way create another Gallifrey. Plus, he's never seen it.) Most of all though, he just wants 'his own place'. *g*

And now I've got to run! Thank you again, I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)
