ETA: Have had a look around for Doctor & Jack stuff and... Hm. 'Tis tricky. I shall rec you two VERY different fics which might highlight the two main aspects?
Paying For It. Set sometime between S3 and 4, as far as I can tell, and... well, just read it. Extremely funny, but also has the Doctor tell Jack exactly what he thinks of him, and it rings pretty true. *g*
Even The Damned. This is a post-Children of Earth fic, and I'm presuming you know the basic outline of what happened there? Anyway, this is the conversation Jack and the Doctor ought to have had on screen if there had been time. (And I saw a lot of it, actually, in the scene we did get.)
