I like this -- no, the Master isn't any less the Master, but to see him care for Alex is lovely. Especially because what he wants for his son just reinforces everything he's tried to do. Oh that's a wonderful way of putting it! And I do love the fact that he truly loves his son - it adds a wonderful dimension to his character. Of course he is still evil, and if he'd been bringing Alex up by himself would have spoiled him rotten and totally warped him.
