Yeah, all the stuff about their relationship would definitely have been a hint... which, again, I was trying desperately to ignore. You and me both. And there was the fact that he *almost* died in Cyberwoman, and that he was the one who was supposed to die in S2, and they only changed it to Owen very late in the day. There was practically a scythe hanging over his head...
Also, I'm mostly mad b/c it seems like the entire point of that whole scenario was to say, "Oh, if you weren't sure they were dangerous, they are. And Torchwood's "plans"? They suck. A lot." It just makes it feel really dumb and pointless. I have meta for you once you're done. And as I said... the ending really worked for me. Still HEARTBROKEN, but the ending helped. (This is hopelessly cryptic, isn't it? Sorry 'bout that.)
mainly by trying to mentally kill off Rhys, instead, even though I do like him quite a bit. They're happy, too! Oh, I was there too. EVERYONE SHOULD BE FEELING AS BAD AS ME!!!! (Not proud of it, but THEY BROKE MY HEART! I was also desperately clinging to RTD's record of doing crazy things & bringing people back to life. Darn CoE and it's non-cracktaticness...)
Did I mention that fandom went absolutely batshit *insane*? I mean, completely and utterly nuts. Just... stay away, seriously.
Eventually, I'll probably settle into a semi-content denial. Well I'm sure that there are already half a million fix-its out there. As I said, fandom was NOT HAPPY and Ianto will live on in fic forever, trust me.
Speaking of which, it occurred to me that I've been doing a really *lousy* job of reviewing My Immortal lately. I am still reading it, honest, and I absolutely love it. Aw, thank you. And at least you're reading... I'm so busy I have not read like a TON of fantastic fic that's been posted recently. *sigh* (And I'm here for the fic too... it's just that writing gets in the way.)
And I hope you get some sleep! Happy dreams? Oh, and this fic (quite short) does provide a fix-it of sorts. (No spoilers, was written way before CoE.)
