I have squeed several times during After the Fall. I even squeed during the Faith storyline.
I liked the Faith storyline - I had a couple of major reservations, but mostly it was good, solid stuff.

Of course, I consider the comics canon so that might be the difference.
It could. Although for me it's not about liking them - I adore AtF, but it's still not canon (even though I kinda wish it was).

Oh I *love* comics and have since forever. My first real fannish obsession was 'Elfquest', and I devoured 'Asylum' and 'Shadow Puppets'. :)

I've always been a lot more accepting of the story directions Joss choses to take.
I have easily accepted every single thing he did on the show. Including the AR. s8 is a different thing though.

Heck. I've even found the current Buffy ship to be funny, exactly as intended, even though I went into it with a hairy eyeball.
Oh it made me laugh a lot. And the Dracula/Xander thing is hysterical!

So yeah. I'm squeeing now (as much as anyone witha daughter with strep throat can squee)

Spike is by far my favorite character even though I simply adore them all (well at least all of the television show characters.
