Brian responded I hope you don't think me strange, but his answers make me very, very happy. The thing is, s8 has turned into OOC crack!fic. This sometimes makes me cross (the bank robbing) and sometimes amused (Buffy/Satsu), and completely unable to take any of it seriously.
AtF however I *am* taking seriously, and if that means sticking with the subtext then that's fine with me. Much as I'd like Spike & Angel to hook up, I much prefer Brian to tell the story he's telling without distracting shippiness, no matter how hot it would be.
So I shall continue to rely on Torchwood to supply me with canon slash. :)
