I think yesterday was a full year since Finland declared a state of emergency and shut most things down for a couple of months. But for me "The Day" was year ago last Friday when the Prime Minister held her first press conference about covid. It's interesting to look back and see what stands out.
I was just chatting yesterday with a co-worker with whom I watched the press conference (because we'd been having a meeting together about a project that ended up becoming obsolete due to lay-offs). We were talking about how we'd naiively thought that we'll just work from home for a couple of weeks and after that either we've all had covid or the pandemic has ended. Hah! Oh goodness yes. Just... such uncharted waters. We knew nothing! (We were all Jon Snow. *g*)
(my other "covid moment" is that I remember hearing about our first customer cancelling because of covid while I was crammed into a Framery phone booth with two colleagues - what a different world we used to live in!) Oh wow.
