Ooh, that's my hometown! I was so surprised when I learned that wasn't a normal part of emergency services. They've had that since I was a kid, and I thought it was just normal.

Anyway, I definitely encourage other people to look at that program as something to consider and adapt in handling a wide range of emergencies without police.

Yeah, last I heard they were taking twenty percent of emergency calls on two percent of what the police department gets. And they have room to expand, so hopefully they'll get at least some of the police budget directed their way instead.
