I love that apparently so many people were comparing current events to The Thick of It and hoping that Malcolm Tucker would come and sort everything out that yesterday The Thick of It actually became a trending topic on Twitter :D

Yeah, it's all just so unbelievably ridiculous. Armando Iannucci said in an interview that if he had written an episode that was like politics today (he was talking specifically about Theresa May's party conference speech last year), poeple would say it's too ridiculous to be real, which is why he's not doing contemporary political satire anymore because the reality is beoynd any comedy that he could write.

(and sadly Mr. Bean would be a more competent leader than some presidents and other politics that shall remain unnamed...)

the reality is beoynd any comedy that he could write.

I was lucky enough to hear Trevor Noah of The Daily Show give a keynote at a recent event I attended. He said, "The real comic genius is Donald Trump." All the comedians can do is point and laugh.

God, Mr Bean would do a better job at least he's a nice guy with good intentions.

Never has this speech resonated more with me:

I'm not doing this because I want to beat someone — or because I hate someone, or because I want to blame someone. It’s not because it’s fun. God knows it’s not because it's easy. It’s not even because it works, because it hardly ever does. I do what I do because it's right! Because it's decent! And above all, it's kind! It's just that. Just kind. If I run away today, good people will die. If I stand and fight, some of them might live — maybe not many, maybe not for long. Hey, maybe there’s no point in any of this at all, but it's the best I can do. So I'm going to do it, and I will stand here doing it until it kills me.

Waterford Whispers has the best take on the news. I love their take on Michael D's second term as well.

Ireland's answer to The Onion. Their coverage of the Eighth Referendum was spot on.

It's like Moff knew what we needed to hear.
