I loved all the little details sprinkled throughout this, but the bit with the janitor might be my very favorite. I had waaaay too much fun with this, once I started I was just on a roll. And yeah, ANYONE would employ a guy like that!
Ew, Eve. I don't blame Lorne for skedaddling. It's mostly guilt for having killed Lindsey, but yeah, there are a lot of... issues, full stop. Mind you, I was v pleased to bring her in, because I hated her ending (such as it was).
I also love game, tough Ternisha, Andrew and his protective boyfriend, and of course Maureen would be willing to negotiate with Willow. She's, um, not to be trifled with. (I'm still scared of her.) Ternisha just sort of appeared, and then needed a name, and then just kept popping up. Am glad you like her. And Andrew so needed someone to look after him, bless. And Willow - it's v interesting where she has ended up (I say, as if I didn't write it...). It's always risky to have a character who is very very powerful, but I hope I have made her complex enough not to be a walking Deus Ex Machina.
Buffy is not getting Spike's best stuff right now. But I am hopeful that it's because he's confident enough of her support that he can take it a little for granted in the immediate aftermath. In many ways, yes. She gave him that huge, big declaration of unconditional love before he left, so he feels quite secure in that sense. But right now they are both hurting, and dealing in completely different ways, and Buffy especially has had a week that has been pretty indescribable. (Well I tried! *g*) So they're not in a good place for being understanding, either of them.
