I don't know that I crush on him. But he's just immensely watchable. Oh yes, I know exactly what you mean. I loved his Hamlet. :)
I lost track if I told you this, but I was might taken by his role in "Recovery" because I have dealt with a similar situation in my personal life and it was spot on. It was one of those things I meant to watch, but never got round to. But I have heard many good things.
My crush goes in this order Heh. I don't know that I would be able to pinpoint things that well, but it's a very neat list!
I did heard about that. I respect Peter Capaldi for requesting it. It was getting to the stage of "what else is new"?. Well that is one of the things the show does so well - endless reinvention.
The thing I didn't like was that after a near death experience she thinks it's fine to have hurt/comfort sex with the Doctor?. Have you watched Torchwood? (I may have asked this already, sorry.) There was a very similar situation, although in that case it turned into a fullblown affair (that the girl never confessed to her other half). And she was older and more mature than Amy. Maybe it was a misstep, I don't know. But I think it helped illustrate how damaged Amy was.
They never mention that bit to him later, said it was only "kissing". If she was that confused I guess she really wasn't ready for marriage. The Doctor was - in many ways - the one who broke her, and thus he had to fix her again. And he also pushed her into seeing what she really wanted. (And no, they shouldn't have told Rory. It would only have hurt him.)
As for Victorian Clara. He was trying to get away. Why do people grab someone's head to kiss them?. Doesn't that hurt?. Depends...
I don't have an issue with River Song, I just didn't like that both mother and daughter have kissed the same man. It's very soap opera. Well, this IS from the man who wrote Coupling... ;) (And the show was rebooted by RTD, who's no stranger to soap-y storylines.)
To be fair the Eleventh Doctor has initiated kisses too like with Jenny and that nun who's name has escaped me at the moment. And Jenny slapped him soundly. :)
I liked Nine and Rose together because Rose wasn't one hundred percent devoted to the Doctor yet. She was his moral compass until he regenerated. And then we got S2... And HUBRIS.
I also mentioned that the Tenth Doctor got pat on the behind by Minnie, (that was improvised so that was a genuine shock for David Tennant). If an elderly man did that to a young woman that would be so wrong. Very true. But then we're into a minefield about everyday sexism etc.
It's not that I don't want to hear what he says, it's more like "why is he saying that?". Because he is a troll with foot-in-mouth syndrome.
She was there for the "dad's". At least she was a strong warrior. Poor Peri was only there 'for the dads', poor thing. :(
Well, at least I'm not the only one. Not at all!!I'm not really the best person to talk to, to be honest, as I am a) mostly about meta and b) a total Pollyanna.
That was the deleted scene right, or was it the dvd extra?. Both!
I realize that I criticize this show a lot. Maybe I better write down the things I do like about the show.:( Hey, this is nothing compared to those that literally do nothing except complain. I don't think they like ANYTHING... Which of course proves that they are True Fans. ;) (Have you read Why do Star Wars Fans hate Star Wars?)
Wow. I didn't mean to go on and on. I should just right on my own post what I think when I get too descriptive. Please excuse my little spelling mistake earlier. I have an icon dedicated to rambling. So don't apologise! :)
