I don't know that I crush on him. But he's just immensely watchable.

I lost track if I told you this, but I was might taken by his role in "Recovery" because I have dealt with a similar situation in my personal life and it was spot on. Even though it was mainly a sad movie. My crush goes in this order:

1) Accent.
2) Acting.
3) Looks.

"Well, he's the one that decided there'd be no more romance, so the choice was his. As for the kisses - well, Amy was very confused and had a whole bunch of issues that she was dealing with rather badly. Victorian!Clara just picked up on the fact that he was attracted to her. River of course flirted all over everything, but then she was his wife. So that's one kiss from each companion, not counting his wife. Hardly OTT."

I did heard about that. I respect Peter Capaldi for requesting it. It was getting to the stage of "what else is new"?.

I have mixed feelings about Amy's behavior in series 5. Yes she couldn't remember alot of her past because of that stupid "crack" in the wall. She had commitment issues so she couldn't express her feelings to Rory. The thing I didn't like was that after a near death experience she thinks it's fine to have hurt/comfort sex with the Doctor?.
To cheat on Rory?. They never mention that bit to him later, said it was only "kissing". If she was that confused I guess she really wasn't ready for marriage. I liked Amy just fine from series 6. Now I think about it when the female champions stop being "infatuated" with him, their relationship with the Doctor is more functional.

As for Victorian Clara. He was trying to get away. Why do people grab someone's head to kiss them?. Doesn't that hurt?. I didn't like it even when the Tenth Doctor did that to Martha. Couldn't he have kissed her on the cheek?. I don't have an issue with River Song, I just didn't like that both mother and daughter have kissed the same man. It's very soap opera.

To be fair the Eleventh Doctor has initiated kisses too like with Jenny and that nun who's name has escaped me at the moment.

"Re. the rebooted show in general, then they very specifically put relationships front & centre. Nine & Rose were promoted as 'soulmates'. So yes, it was much more front & centre than it was in the old show."

I liked Nine and Rose together because Rose wasn't one hundred percent devoted to the Doctor yet. She was his moral compass until he regenerated.

I also mentioned that the Tenth Doctor got pat on the behind by Minnie, (that was improvised so that was a genuine shock for David Tennant). If an elderly man did that to a young woman that would be so wrong.

I guess I should just compare it to the cartoon about that skunk Pepe Le Pew, who mistakenly tries to kiss a cat. It meant to be funny but at the expense of the cat.

"Well, I like him, and he usually has interesting things to say. Ditto RTD. And I think it's useful to know what they think."

Moffat is taking on a big responsibility with the show and I do like how even "mature women" can be strong and attractive (River Song) but sometimes he sounds sexist. It's not that I don't want to hear what he says, it's more like "why is he saying that?". Both Amy and Clara use their "sexuality" because they are both genetically blessed.

"You mean older ones? No idea, sadly I've not watched much of the Classic show."

I watch the Fourth Doctor era and I can confirm that at least the Leela was sexualized but not towards the Doctor. The actress,Louise Jameson who played her was confused about her outfit for the show. She insisted on sewing on more material for it. She was there for the "dad's". She has mentioned in interviews that she thought it was a kids show?.

"You're not the first, nor are you the last! :)"

Well, at least I'm not the only one.

"And then we get that delightful little showcase of all his companions... about 97% of which are young, female and pretty."

That was the deleted scene right, or was it the dvd extra?.

I realize that I criticize this show a lot. Maybe I better write down the things I do like about the show.:(

Wow. I didn't mean to go on and on. I should just right on my own post what I think when I get too descriptive. Please excuse my little spelling mistake earlier.
