Oh, this is just wonderfully fun and quite fascinating. :D :D :D
I was very intrigued by Missy not remembering the Seeker—so now that the show has the Master again, your AU becomes literally another universe, does it? Several people have had this reaction - which never even occurred to me. Of course my AU is, literally, an Alternate Universe. Always has been. Have planned for the Seeker to travel between 'verses for years and years, and to come across canon in one form or another, just as a fascinating look at how far my 'verse has gone along a completely different path. (But again, this is the problem with posting stray idea out of context. *g*) Missy doesn't remember him, because he is completely foreign to her. Just like how Rose is foreign to her Pete's World parents.
Missy's POV, perceptions and thought processes were just wonderfully handled, and the Seeker's reactions to her as well. Like I said elsewhere, it literally just wrote itself when I ought to have been concentrating on meta... But. How could I resist?
Loved Missy's observation of his TARDIS, and her deductions about whom he might be. She works with what she's got. Which is miles off the mark, of course, but I liked following her thought processes.
Hah, I love her. :D Missy is WONDERFUL, full stop.
The Seeker's comments were spot-on—the astonishment that the Doctor might actually have killed her, automatically asking what she'd done, and dismissing her latest plan as not near terrible enough to trigger such a reaction He's only been watching the very final parts from a distance, so doesn't understand anything of all the stuff going on apart from the cyber-army, doesn't know about Danny etc. From his POV of course, the Doctor & the Master have rubbed along fairly well for centuries, nether disturbing the balance. Of course, he (the Seeker), is the reason for that balance, but he doesn't see that. (At least not immediately.)
while commenting in passing that the Doctor couldn't possibly have fallen for that, the Seeker himself would have found it a bit too macabre XD His rational, slightly snarky tone is just awesome. He is used to dealing with his father, and understands how his mind works... And how to undermine it. ;)
I loved the way Missy attempted to smoothly trick him, distract him, look harmless or emotional so she could catch him unaware, but he was always two steps ahead of her. You can fool many people, but never your own children!
And using her very own weapons against her—isomorphic controls, laser screwdriver, going crescendo up to the Toclafane itself! :D Oh, I could clap. If she thought about it a little more, she'd realise how well (s)he (well her parallel world self) has brought him up... But she's not really in the right frame of mind atm.
Love her fury and her snapping at him to stop lying. He called her a stubborn old thing. He knew the hairpins would be poisonous. I just can't deal with all the epic things. XD Well she called him stubborn (mirror, mirror), and they're both convinced the other is lying... He has the upper hand because he knows who she is, but if she'd allow herself to believe she might have more of a chance.
Her lines were all perfect, dripping with sarcasm, and his were just as good. I could frame the one reacting to her Gallifrey bait and put it on my wall. It was SO MUCH FUN to write! Snark upon snark, and they really are VERY alike...
And the ending was just neat, of course that would give her pause. I just love it! ^_^ Awesome thing! ♥ ♥ ♥ Thank you for your awesome, awesome feedback, am all flaily. ♥
