The new Doctor lands on Saturday, 23 August when the new series opens with a feature-length episode entitled “Deep Breath”. Doctor Who Official @bbcdoctorwho
Random thought .... is Trenzalore Reinette's revenge? ... No.
Clara, even the Doctor doesn't know who he is anymore. It's okay. Regenerations settle out after a while.... It would be a proper regeneration if it went smoothly.
I don't know that the Seeker's were difficult. Just the circumstances were unfortunate. But then he's about a million times more sensible than the Doctor... *g*
(The Master - when Yana turned into Simm - managed it pretty well.)
I'm not familiar with Capaldi (I'm very ignorant of British actors who are not in Hollywood, didn't know who Tennant was until 6 months ago :D), but I rewatched Pompei recently and he was soooo good!
So he is doing unnatural things to the TARDIS then? And asking menacing questions? Interesting! :)

He's *very* good. And probably best known for his role as the foulmouthed spin doctor Malcolm Tucker in The Thick of It, a political satire. And when I say foulmouthed, I mean it. Here is a charming mash-up to illustrate people's immediate ideas about what his Doctor might be like... (A LOT OF SWEARING RIGHT FROM THE START OMG!)

Romana chose her time and place. Every single one of the Doctor's regenerations has been an emergency job. It's possible that the ideal regeneration involves, say, a few days of calm meditation and a peaceful environment like the Zero Room. Not radiation poisoning, falling, and all the other unexpected ways that he's "died."
Or he could just be unusually bad at regulating his own body, by Time Lord standards. Probably he skipped that lesson because it was far more important to build a complicated apparatus to turn Koschei's schoolwork into Time Cheese. I don't think we've had that great a voice since Tom Baker.
It sounds like a nice, erudite, educated man, with just a hint of underlying menace.
He certainly doesn't sound like someone you'd want to mess with.
Love it!
Although, I'm also sure he'll be a complete "Sweetie." (With Moffat writing him, and Capaldi playing him, I don't see how he could be otherwise.)

And I think he'll be the opposite of Eleven?
Eleven looked harmless and daft, but had a core of darkness.
Twelve looks dangerous, but I'm sure Clara can wrap him around her little finger. :)
