The Story of Brad and Trude.

You might remember the_royal_anna coming to visit me, yes? Well, a new 'ship sprung from that weekend. As she so eloquently put it in this post:

Trude/Brad is the ship de jour. Trust me on this. The Animal Hospital Plastic Figure Fandom is going to take off any day soon.

So, because it is the holidays and I'm despairing of things to do with my girls, today we re-enacted the story we made up that morning, and with the help of a digital camera are now bringing it to you:


Brad/Trude 4eva! Vets are totally the best!
Once upon a time, there was a handsome young Australian vet called Brad. He liked surfing, and having a tan, and pretty girls. Oh and animals of course.


He worked with the very lovely Trude Mostue (who used to be on a reality TV show) who was known for being blonde and Norwegian.


One day Brad and Trude went on a picnic date. It was a beautiful day with sunshine and pretty flowers and lots of yummy food.


But *then* they had a phone call! Some animals had fallen down a cliff and were stuck on a narrow ledge! Oh no! Their picnic date was spoilt.


Brad jumped in his car, Trude got in her helicopter. And they went to save the animals. In five minutes they had already saved a dog.


Suddenly Brad slipped and FELL OFF THE CLIFF!!!!! Aaaaaaaaaah! Thankfully he managed to cling onto the ledge with the animals.


Trude saw what happened and screamed out loud: "SCREEEEEEEEEEEAM!"


Then Trude rescued Brad with her helicopter.


Poor Brad. He'd hurt his leg badly and needed a bandage. "At least I'm still pretty!" he said, admiring himself in the mirror.


Then they went back to the Animal Hospital with all the animals. Brad was very grumpy because his leg hurt, and driving was really difficult.


They decided to have a party and danced all night long. (Ouch leg!)

Deeply cute! I may join you in shipping them. Though I'm slightly disturbed to find that Ken Brad apparently wears eyeshadow these days!

We had fun! :) And Brad doesn't wear eyeshadow - that's just our camera being crappy. He *is* a very deep orangey-brown though, which is why we decided that he must be Australian!

Hee! HEE! I wondered what you could possibly mean by another surprise! This is *perfect*. I'm deeply impressed by the quality of the sets too. The flowers! The green blanket grass! The pony peeping over the fence!

I think that's my favourite line of all. That's true heroism for you.

I know we reworked the story a little (I think originally they went to the cinema?), but I tried to go with what was handy. And the picnic just seemd to fit! (flowers and pony was all the children!)

I think the reason they went to the cinema originally was it had to be night time so we could have moonlight. But I think the daytime picnic works beautifully. :)

Tell Little Miss M she did a wonderful job!

Thank you. :) And the pony was pulled up very carefully by Trude after she'd taken care of Brad's leg and it went back in the helicopter with her (it didn't fit in the car).

Moonlight! That was it! But it was pretty impossible to get enough light as it was.

Hmmm..makes a lot of sense actually! Brad and Trude are made for each other.

Also, I wanted to let you know that I checked The Princess and the Pea out at the library recently. I don't read children's books normally, since I don't have any children. But I do love fairy tales, and your description caught my interest. What a fun little book! So much detail was put into the set dressing for the photographs.

Oh I'm so glad you got 'Princess and the Pea'! It really is wonderful when a children's book is as much fun for the adults as the children - and when so much work has gone into it. I love the pictures. :)
