Oh, this is stunning. Very late to the party but since I am trying to write about the Doctor's saviour complex and ethic and wars, I figured I needed to read this to put everything in place. And it was efficient. What a beauty.

I was mostly taken aback by the last part, coming back to the Library and the Wedding of River Song. Of course, weapons, marriages of opposites, everybody lives. Moffat is deliciously consistent when it comes to topoi. And you underline it beautifully.

About Clara's lines resembling River's: it may be that Clara simply became a teacher, when River had been the Doctor's Professor. She was upgraded in a way. Oh, and the reflection on Clara's point of view! Though I doubt she remembers her lives.

I had forgotten how your metas make EVERYTHING work within an episode. Thank you for sharing!
