I didn't even think of the children crying from The Beast Below, good catch. Really? That episode has been in my head since NotD, what with this:
DOCTOR: Look, three options. One: I let the Star Whale continue in unendurable agony for hundreds more years. Two: I kill everyone on this ship. Three: I murder a beautiful, innocent creature as painlessly as I can. And then I find a new name, cos I won't be the Doctor any more.
Name and identity are very closely linked, and oh, as soon as there are children involved oh - there can be only one outcome... (So is this how it works, Doctor? You never interfere in the affairs of other peoples or planets, unless there's children crying?/Yes)

I missed all of the River parallels. Seems obvious in hindsight now. I particularly enjoyed "the operating system became sentient." Everything is always about River. She is the mirror for EVERYTHING. :)
And your mention of River and Rose both being ghosts made me think of this: I'm sort of half on board? I mean, I can see your point, but I don't think Ten could see 'Rose'. She has a different significance.
It boils down to this: The Bad Wolf hacked The Moment. I like your theory. As you've by now discovered, you are not alone, so I shall say that I am not 100% on board, but I think shades of it are correct? I've not really thought about it in much depth, but I am probably going to write a post about 'the women' so I'll keep all your gorgeous graphics in mind - I *love* the fact that you illustrate your thoughts the same way I do. <3
Also, don't call all your theories 'crackpot'. If there wasn't a Time Beetle on that tree, I'll eat my hat. (The leaf changed. Clara's leaf. I can't wait to find out what it all means...)
