Dating: Not an update
Hello all. No new chapter today! Mostly because of work...
I work in a College [further education - mostly 16-18 y.o. + lots of adult part time students], and this week enrolments began, which basically means two - three weeks of craziness, as pretty much every single student attending in the coming year needs enrolling. And this can be a lengthy process. The whole college goes /o\ at this time of year... (And NO ONE is allowed time off. NO ONE.)
If you read Chapter 27 (Allison starting life in Manchester) I can assure you that her experiences of enrolment were drawn very closely from RL. (With apologies to Manchester University, they're probably terribly efficient.) Anyway, there are ALWAYS issues that crop up, and all the best laid plans turn out to be insufficient in the face of *reality* and actual students.
As I work in Campus Admin we get to deal with a whole spectrum of issues, as well as having to do a crazy amount of the administration. Most of which is never thought through by the people at the top, which means endless headaches for us... (OK, I'll stop moaning now. It was a long day. Not a bad day, just BUSY. I like my job, but it does kill my brain on a regular basis.)
Anyways, this is why there is no new chapter. I only have about half a draft, and have had no extra resources for trying to write. And the next chapter (so far) consists of a single scene. (As in - that's as much draft as I have. The whole thing exists in my head perfectly formed.) After that the following chapter also has one scene, and the next three... zero written down. But. That's as much as there is. 34 chapters, unless something goes terribly wrong and BALLOONS again. (As you know, this has been known to happen.)

They have all these marvellous plans... (Mention the words 'progression form' to any ordinary member of staff - teacher or admin - and they'll collectively shudder and just say 'Those bloody forms!')
LOL at incorporating this into a fic, though. Good for you!
I couldn't not do it. And I do my best to be extra friendly - the poor students have a hard enough time of it as it is...
