Random stuff.

I've had a lovely morning, filled with fandom-y things. :) I know the baby will wake up any minute now, but oh the peace and quiet has been fabulous! (Darcy has been playing computer games on the PC with the two older ones, leaving me all alone!!!!)

First of all I need some help (again!): Does anyone have a link to the David Fury interview where he talked about the Spuffy ending? Thanks in advance.

Then I've got a new friend - [livejournal.com profile] ibmiller - who's also a new Buffy fan. Go here to read how he got sucked in, and what he loves about the show! :)

Also thanks to him, I found out that the BBC's Buffy site is still there!!! Look:

SQUEEEE!

There's also (from [livejournal.com profile] chrisleeoctaves, via flist) the great idea of A Summer of Love. Sounds wonderful. :)

Oh and apparently LJ has been listening to us! A snippet:

Finally, we want to reiterate that LiveJournal is a place where you can be yourself. We welcome users of all ages, with all interests, and we know that LJ's unique and diverse community is what makes it special. All of us on the staff have made friends on LJ who are totally different from us, live in different countries, have different points of view, and we wouldn't have it any other way. Our intention as we make changes to the site is to make LJ a better place so our current users and new users will want to use it. Sometimes we'll make mistakes, but we'll try our best to fix them. It stings when y'all yell at us, but we love that you're passionate about how you feel. :)

Whole post here.

(That said, I followed the crowd and got a greatest journal. I doubt I'll ever use it, but you're welcome to friend me over there if you like. It'll be like a holiday cottage! *g*

Oh and I posted my Slayer thoughts over on the newsgroup. Got quite a few very interesting replies. :)

And what do you know - the baby just woke up! See you all later and sorry about my incessant spammming. *smooches*

Aren't you full of the good news this morning (well, morning for me)? :> I'm going to check out ibmiller's post soon andI'm quite happy to hear about the BBC site too. For an "official" type website I always thought it was marvelous.

I saw the LJ post yesterday but I rather wonder what it'll mean in terms of development. Like many I'm puzzled by why they wouldn't open up Vox for new young users rather than market it as the more "serious" blog platform. Heh, and like you I also decided to open up a GJ to snag my name. Actually as I recall the last time they got used was during the LJ Blackout of -- was it 2004? Down a whole day or something, I forget now. I like your metaphor of the summer cottage! Someone should run with that idea in a community -- the weekend house party or something :>

I saw you mention (yesterday?) that the baby is teething. How long does that last generally?

Oooh, I've been pimped. Thanks! Not sure if I want a greatestjournal - I'm just getting back into livejournal, and I already have a xanga. But I would like a deadjournal, just because it's funny.

Yes, I'm pondering dinner now myself. I saved some of those icons as well, they were great! GJ's huge icon limit is very tempting ;D

Glad to hear it hasn't been too bad, for either of you!

Yay! Yay! Yay, for the love! I got a greatest journal too, though really only because I wanted to upload 2000 icons! I got to #79 before I was exhausted, heh. *smooches*

Oooh, I think I found it. After several google searches with every combination of "David Fury", shanshu, spike, angel, "not fade away", etc, I found a like to spikylover's entry, where Cold Dead Seed was mentioned. In this thread, helcat reports on a Q&A with Fury where the finale ending was mentioned. Oh, what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to dream of spuffy endings and such...

So far, I can't find any other references to this, but I think this is the source. The truth of the signal, as someone once said. :-)

Oh, goody. Waiting... :-)
