Re. the icon (isn't it *brilliant*?), then I am currently absorbing as much Twilight mockage as I can find the time for - at some point I'll make a post with lots of links, but until then you'll get my new theory re. s8, which goes like this:
One day, after Twilight first was published, Joss picked up a copy because hey - vampires! Of course he was shocked and appalled at what SMeyers had done, and thought to himself that it was a shame that BtVS had finished because otherwise he could have had Buffy fight this new threat. And so the comics were born, with the enigmatic 'Twilight' as the Big Bad. However, since this is Joss, he upped the game and decided that the whole thing should play out on a meta level (because Buffy dusting sparkly vampires would be lame), and this is why s8 is such an odd mishmash. The retcons, OOCness, forced conflict etc is a sign of Twilight gaining power. But Buffy fights back - with things such as characterdeath & angst and of course Buffy/Satsu (Buffy don't need no man to complete her, no sir!). ETA: And PLOT! Plot is a great weapon against Twilight!
