I've read fic here and there that incorporates Torchwood so I'm familiar with some of the characters and basic story background but I actually am not upset if I have to spoil it. I like spoilers.

I know what you mean about the using-every-bit-of-canon. I'm like that with BtVS. I have such obscure references in my writing that I hope anyone who does notice will let me know. It feels nice to put that deep level of knowledge to use!
